The last FA Cup quarterfinal clash will be settled this Wednesday, April 13th at Upton Park in London when West Ham United hosts fellow Premier League side Manchester United. The two teams first met at Old Trafford in Manchester on March 13th and played to a 1-1 draw. This replay will go to extra time if it ends in a draw and will then go to a penalty shootout if it’s still level. While both clubs are still fighting for a berth in the 2016/17 European Champions League, the FA Cup is their only chance for silverware this season. Man United enters the match after a 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday while West Ham battled to a 3-3 home draw with Arsenal a day earlier.

West Ham United vs Manchester United – Head to Head:
- The two clubs played to a 0-0 Premier League draw at Old Trafford back on December 5. They drew 1-1 at Upton Park last season in league play with Man United winning 2-1 at home. West Ham is winless in their last nine encounters with Man United with two draws and seven losses. The teams last met in the FA Cup in January of 2013 with Man United winning 1-0 at home. These two teams usually produce at least one goal per game since the last 0-0 draw they played prior to December 5 came at Upton Park back in August of 1998. These two clubs have met 132 times in the past with Man United winning 61, losing 42 and drawing the other 29. West Ham has won just once in their last 18 meetings overall and that was a 4-0 League Cup win at home in 2010. West Ham won three straight games between December 2006 and December 2007 though.
Both teams still have an outside chance of finishing in the top four in the league as well as having a shot at this year’s FA Cup. Man United beat League One club Sheffield United in their first cup game then downed Derby 3-1 on the road in their second fixture before ousting Shrewsbury 3-0 on the road in the round of 16. They enter this game in fifth place in the Premier League with 53 points from 15 wins, eight draws and nine losses. They’ve scored 39 goals and allowed 30 against. The squad is four points behind fourth-place Manchester City, 19 back of league-leading Leicester City and one in front of West Ham.
The Hammers are currently sitting in sixth position in the league with 52 points from 13 wins, 13 draws and six defeats while scoring 45 times and conceding 33. They’re 20 points behind Leicester, five back of fourth place Man City and one behind Man United. West Ham has drawn their last three league games after winning their previous three. The London club thumped Championship League club Blackburn 5-1 in their last FA Cup showdown after ousting Liverpool 2-1 at home in a replay and beating Championship side Wolverhampton 1-0 at home. English striker Andy Carroll has the hot foot for West Ham at the moment as he scored all three goals against Arsenal on the weekend. West Ham has five wins and three draws in their past eight home outings while Man United has two victories, two draws and three defeats on their last seven road trips.
