The Week 3 NFL Monday Night Football game will feature the Kansas City Chiefs visiting the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on September 28. The Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks 27-17 last Sunday and are now 2-0 on the season while the Chiefs were beaten 31-24 by the Denver Broncos and arrive in Green Bay with a mark of 1-1.
Chiefs vs Packers 5Dimes Betting Line
- Point Spread: Chiefs +7.5 (-140), Packers -7.5 (+120)
- Money Line: Chiefs +255, Packers -310
- Over Under: Over 49 points -110, Under 49 points -110
The Chiefs were taken down for the seventh consecutive time by the Broncos in week two and are hoping to turn things around against the Packers in Green Bay. Kansas City has only themselves to blame for the loss though as they coughed up the ball on a routine play late in the contest and witnessed the Broncos return the ball for the game-winning score with just 27 seconds to go on the clock. Jamaal Charles gave up the ball on the play and had two fumbles on the day, but otherwise had a good game as he scored a touchdown and ran for 125 yards on 21 carries.

Kansas City fans are betting Charles will rebound with a solid outing in Green Bay and are hoping quarterback Alex Smith also picks up the pace. Smith had problems with Denver’s secondary as he was picked off twice and gained 191 yards by converting 16 of 25 passes. He didn’t really get much help though as the Chief’s offensive line watched as the Broncos’ front seven sacked him four times. Kansas City needs to cut down on the turnovers since they totaled five against Denver. Kansas City is 3-4 both against the spread and straight up in their last seven outings away from home.
The packers lost running back Eddie Lacy early in the game to an ankle injury against the Seahawks, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers pulled the team through with a fine performance. Rodgers threw for a pair of touchdowns and gained 269 yards in the air by going 25 for 33 in the passing department. He combined well on the day with some big late-game plays to sophomore tight-end Richard Rodgers and first-year wideout Ty Montgomery. Rodgers was on the receiving end of one of his quarterback’s passes for a touchdown.
Veteran James Starks had a good game on the ground as he ran for 95 yards on 20 carries. Green Bay should be able to handle Kansas City’s running game as their run defense had an excellent outing against Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch by limiting him to just 41 rushing yards. The defense could cause some problems for the Chiefs’ running game and this is why Jamaal Charles will be a big factor in the game for Kansas City. Green Bay is 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 home contests and haven’t been beaten straight up in that span. They should be able to extend that winning streak next Monday night.
